Notifications on your Facebook profile lets you know about every action on your profile either its status likes, comments, video likes or friend-request acceptance. However, users are unable to get notifications when someone unfriends them i-e, you need to scroll down the whole friend-list to know about that leaving friend. Obviously, a very tiresome job to do.

How will you feel if you get unfriend notifications? Clearly then you don’t need to go through the whole friend list. Here is a very simple script about unfriend notification. It works with Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer. If you want this script for your Facebook then follow up the script.

1. The Script:

The Unfriend Finder script is released by Edouard Gatouillat. You just need to visit Userscripts.org. However, if you are using Google Chrome it will install automatically.

2. For Firefox Users:

If you are a Firefox user Script will not install automatically. You need to install Greasemonkey 0.9.15 add-on first.

3. Move to Facebook:

Once Greasemonkey 0.9.15 add-on is installed you’ll see one extra tab “Unfriends” on top-right and one extra option “Unfriends” in your Favorites list on your Facebook profile.

4. Notifications:

Now if someone unfriends you then you will be able to see the notification on your Facebook profile using Facebook Unfriend Finder.

5. Unfriends Information:

To see the complete information including time and date about the friends who unfriend you just click Unfriends option in Favorites list. You will be able to see people who unfriend you with time and date.

6. Deactivation and Re-activation Alerts:

Facebook Unfriend Finder will allow users to receive alerts when someone deactivates or re-activates his Facebook profile. Its a very useful feature.

Black and white time is over. However, Pictures from that time always turns memories on. They are all almost historic assets for the owners. We can better use such historic stereographs by creating a 3-D effect. The New York Public Library has a collection of 40,000 historic stereographs but less beneficial. To get more out of this huge historic archive they planned to turn it into 3D images and animated GIF files.

To create 3D images and animated GIF files NYPL has launched a feature - the Stereogranimator. It allows users to create a 3-D effect from their historic stereographs.

Ben Vershbow, manager of NYPL Labs said, “For nearly a century, stereographs were the cutting edge of 3D entertainment, but their flat, doubled surfaces give little indication of the thrill they once held for millions. Meanwhile, GIF animations were a staple of the early web, and continue to pop up in viral media streams in surprising and increasingly innovative ways. The prospect of mashing up 19th century photography with 1990s Internet folk art seemed an opportunity too weird and wonderful to pass up”.

You just need to visit the official website of the Stereogranimator. There are three tabs Create, Gallery and About. Just select Create button and then select an image. Another screen will open with the selected stereograph. Now you can see it in either 3-D Anaglyph or in animated GIF. Here is an example for you.

Smartphones provided a very quick and fast way of communication. With every new day stylish, attractive and advanced smartphones catching people’s attentions. Though it eased communication however, power problem is always stick with smartphones. Its very common in modern smartphones that battery doesn’t last long enough. Now as screens are getting bigger and bigger battery life is getting shorter and shorter.

Arman Ahnood, a researcher at the London Centre for Nanotechnology has come up with an ingenious useful solution – smartphone screens with built-in solar cells. He said, “Only 36% of the light produced by an OLED display is projected straight out; the rest is wasted, either as scattered light or bleeding from the edge of the display”.

He placed photovoltaic cells at the back and sides of OLED screens to save this wasted energy. The results of Ahnood’s system (consists of a supercapacitor and some circuitry) were surprising good as it works at 11% of efficiency with five miliwatts output but only for a 3.7-inch device.

According to his research, “A typical smartphone uses up to several hundred miliwatts, and as much as 68.6 miliwatts in a suspended state”. So his early experiment isn’t that promising however efficiency can be increased and we can save hours of battery life.

ShareYouTubeMP3 and ShareYouTubeVideo are twin sites which offer the simplest process to get music and videos from YouTube without any strings attached. What’s more, its really free and is without any registration, ads on, or background download of any Spywares/malicious software, just click, convert and download. Yes as easy and simple as 1. 2. 3.

These days, they have launched some add-ons for different browsers, which include features similar to the ones provided by Internet Download Manager (IDM) and Real Media Player for youtube. I love to see these free buttons that will appear when I am watching YouTube videos. I just click them to easily download.

After clicking the button, you are led to another page. Here you can choose which formats you want to download, the feature you will not get with IDM, Real Media Player or any similar tool out there, at-least in this year.

Don’t forget to add your comments about these web services. Hopefully these will help you save your favorite videos from YouTube on your own device in your desired format.
