Metabolomx is a breath test for diagnosing lung cancer. Its simple and no patient’s biopsy needed.   In California a successful clinical trial is completed recently. The accuracy of spotting cancer was as high as 83 %. Apart from this the test can also distinct between various subtypes of the disease.

As tumor’s metabolism is present in the patient’s blood that finally can be felt in the breath. This is what Metabolomx test uses to diagnose lung cancer. The patient needs to breathe in a tube for about 5 minutes. Then a bacteria-free breath is passed through a series of colored reactant sensors which change colors to varying degrees. Now two photos of the color reactants is taken out, one before test and other after test. Finally the system subtracts one image out of the second and displays it.

Research professor Ehud Keinan said, “Our biological computing device is based on the 75-year-old design by the English mathematician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist Alan Turing”.

Bio-molecular computer is created in a test tube consisting of a mixture of molecules and works on the same pattern as electronic computers do – hardware, software, input and output. Repeatable set of instructions on a helix of DNA acts like a software and biological computer is the hardware. Now the input is encoded DNA while decoded DNA appears at the output end.

The researcher Ehud Keinan said, “In contrast to electronic computers, there are computing machines in which all four components are nothing but molecules,” said lead researcher Keinan. For example, all biological systems and even entire living organisms are such computers. Every one of us is a biomolecular computer, a machine in which all four components are molecules that ‘talk’ to one another logically”.

Envisioner has come up with wireless endoscopy tools. Endosync is the new wireless endoscopy tool for the doctors to diagnose with more clarity and allows them to see images on their iPads. It enables the doctors to view medical images of internal organs of a patient clearly and helps in diagnosing illnesses.

The image resolution will be either standard DV 320×240 or HD 720×480. Endosync uses EndoGo HD camera which is capable of digital video output. But currently is out of function. Endosync has built-in Wi-Fi capability. It uses cloud storage technology that makes long-term-analysis easy.

Doctors need to run eGoPad app on their iPads or iPhones to capture videos or images of internal organs of the patients. Turn the Endosync on and connect the traditional endoscopic camera on it. Now you will be able to receive videos and images on your iPads enabling you to diagnose with more clarity. Multicasting is an interesting feature allows many doctors to see internal organs scan simultaneously.

A research is carried out at Columbia University showing that human memory is hurt by Internet search. Internet has provided us with great search engines like Google. We look up for movies, songs, multimedia, researches, books, online helping tools, health caring suggestions etc on Internet everyday. However, such searches over Internet is harming effectively human brain. To be more accurate, “Internet has replaced our brain’s ability to remember information”. We remember only tools or websites instead of information itself. 

According to the study, we use our brains as computer uses external hard disks – back up data storage. High percentage of population has access to the Internet shows the high dependency on Internet. Even we people don’t bother to remember because we have an alternate in the form of Internet. Actually, we living with Google brains not with human brains. Even sometimes if we don’t find anything on Internet, we simply ignore its existence.

A standard laboratory tool called PCR is used to measure the concentration of HIV.  The Digital PCR is also in use which is more effective and accurate in counts. Microfluidics is the recent technology for this purpose.  The sample is divided in multitude of tiny wells. Each well contains almost 1 molecule. Molecules are then amplified and then the result would be  either “yes” or “no”.

In order to handle the measurement of large dynamic range, as HIV viral load ranges from 50 to a million molecules per ml, divide the sample in to a series of varying sized-well. Then count the molecules at different concentrations.  Now sum the information through all these, it would be more precised than individual information.

As time passes, the liquid drops is smaller due to advances in medicine and food, while the water coming into the bottles is becoming larger, resulting in population increase and is estimated to reach 10,000 million by 2100.
