A survey is carried out in America where people aging 16 – 25 are requested to poll for the best innovator of all times. 52% said that Thomas Edison is the greatest innovator of all times while 24% selected Steve Jobs as their best choice followed by Alexander Bell with only 10%. Marie Curie got 5% while Mark Zuckerberg surprisingly is the choice of 3% only. Others include Amelia Earhart and Temple Grandin with 3% and 2% each. 

As life without Facebook and smartphones seems imposible – so Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg must be rated high.

Lemelson-MIT Program’s invention education officer, Leigh Estabrooks said, “This year’s survey revealed that less than half of respondents have done things like used a drill or hand-held power tool, or made something out of raw materials in the past year. We must engage students in these types of invention experiences as well as provide a strong STEM education to drive future innovators”.

(You may install it on another partition) The current solution is to install in a virtual machine. And VirtualBox, a free virtualization tool, works perfect.

For those of you who don’t know, Virtualization is the process of running an operating system above our current operating system is Linux, Windows, Or OS X.

First thing first, Before proceeding, make sure you have a fast computer (Core 2 Duo and up), enough RAM (just 2 but 4 GB is recommended) and about 20 GBs space hard disk.

Go to

• VirtualBox
• The image of Windows 8 (Download the ISO of 32 or 64 bits)

Once downloaded both the program, next we need to install and run Virtualbox. Just to see it appear, give click on “New” to create a new virtual machine.

Next enter the name and other details as in image below.

Now we have to assign RAM to the VM, 1Gb of RAM is a decent choice. Do not worry, this will be occupied only when using the virtual machine, so as a value.

On the next screen, leave the default options. Completing the process, end up with something like this

Now let’s work on some Settings. Inside, under “System”, make sure that Enable IO APIC is enabled:

Then go to Display, and give 128 MBs of RAM video card to improve virtual machine performance.

Low “Storage”, make sure the file called “Win8.vdi” (or the name you have) as a controller is IDE, not SATA. This is important because otherwise, we will only see a blue screen with no possibility of continuing.

Finally, under Storage, CD’s icon, change the CD / DVD Drive for the ISO you downloaded, as follows: choose “Choose a virtual CD / DVD disk file …” and select the ISO you downloaded. Click OK.

Click on Start and go! The installation of Windows 8 will begin. Surprisingly, only take about 10 to 15 minutes (depending on your hardware). The experience will be somewhat limited compared with a native installation (I can still install “Guest Additions” or virtual machine drivers, for example), quite quickly to give a glimpse to the OS.

4: Battlefield 3

With an outstanding response of latest Call of Duty few months back, Battlefield 3 really finds it hard to shine in market. Although the latest trailer seems little bit disappointing but that does not means the game won’t be an awsome one because Battlefield series has released some really big games previously. This remarkable achievement will be the result of NASA’s two space machines named STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) Spacecrafts. These Spacecrafts will be at a position of about 180 degree on opposite sides of the SUN on Feb 6, 2011, so will observe entire 360 degree view of the SUN.  These Spacecrafts, launched on October 25, 2006, will be in service for the next 8 years and will be able to observe the entire 360 degrees of the Sun.
