Bio batteries are user friendly, environment friendly, cost effective and uses no harmful materials. You need to drop papers and cardboard into a liquid mixture made of water and enzymes. This whole equipment is connected to a fan. Now shake the mixture and you will see fan will start circling. 

It uses very simple settings and natural process for electricity. Enzyme cellulase decomposes material into glucose sugar. Now oxygen and more enzymes are mixed with it which will turn them into electrons.

The project team said, “In the future using this technology, we will be able to generate electricity using glucose derived from unused wood, cardboard and old papers”.

Arman Ahnood, a researcher at the London Centre for Nanotechnology has come up with an ingenious useful solution – smartphone screens with built-in solar cells. He said, “Only 36% of the light produced by an OLED display is projected straight out; the rest is wasted, either as scattered light or bleeding from the edge of the display”.

He placed photovoltaic cells at the back and sides of OLED screens to save this wasted energy. The results of Ahnood’s system (consists of a supercapacitor and some circuitry) were surprising good as it works at 11% of efficiency with five miliwatts output but only for a 3.7-inch device.

According to his research, “A typical smartphone uses up to several hundred miliwatts, and as much as 68.6 miliwatts in a suspended state”. So his early experiment isn’t that promising however efficiency can be increased and we can save hours of battery life.

WAKAWAKA also provides mobile charging facility. There is a battery holder for mobile charging. The project is specially for Africa as name suggests. WAKAWAKA comes from Shakira’s World Cup song ‘This Time for Africa’. People and students use kerosene lamps for their daily activities. It can injurious and provides insufficient light to read or work.Solar lamp is the first step to improve their lives.

World largest solar company is also in China named Suntech Power. Suntech Power manufactures solar cells and solar panels. They are the big solar equipment traders of the time.

The solar equipment is of high tech-quality. Wafers are treated in a more efficient way to absorb more sun light. The wafers are placed in a hot furnace filled with phosphorous. Then they are cleaned to generate electricity from light.

Electrical contacts in the form of metal lines are added to the surface of solar cells. Then These solar cells are  sorted out manually. The sorted cells are then exposed to brief flash light. Their response is measured and a robot selects best performed solar cells.

Solar cells are soldered electrically to get solar panels. As machines break more cells so this step is worked out by workers.Then cells are soldered in string. then these string are put together and a complete solar panel results.

The cell strings are placed over a light box. When they join cell strings, protective sheets and glass cover is used.

Now these solar panels are tested under bright ultraviolet light. The test will show the efficiency of the solar panels. After satisfactory tests, solar panels are released to the consumers.
