Whats new: Supposedly Microsoft Windows 8 will come with new things like logon through facial recognition, much more synchronization with Internet, start much faster and more curious and interesting feature is an application store similar to Mac App Store that Apple announced a week ago and will be available in less than 90 days.

Windows 8 promises to be good operating system, and more accurately are forced to do some good if they want to remain a competitive compared to SO Mac OS X Lion coming next year and free distributions of Linux as they begin to gain strength slowly.

    Yeah, right. We’re talking about a Microsoft product here. Unless Microsoft strips away the registry and puts in a UFS, Windows will ALWAYS be poorly designed.

    I’m not even going to touch on the other bad designs in Windows, such as its faulty memory management, piss-poor security model, wastign hard disk space on a swap file, etc.

    Microsoft doesn’t have the talent pool to compete with well-entrenched POSIX/UNIX systems. Any time someone talented ends up working for Microsoft, they end up working for Google within a few years when they realize their skills are being wasted on a company that emphasizes brutal enforcement of its monopoly over quality.

    Microsoft would have to hire 500 brilliant fresh programmers and flush out their existing Windows developers to make an OS that can even improve enough to keep up.
