Robotic Worm is developed by the researchers from MIT, Harvard University and Seoul National University that can creep along the ground just like a real earthworm. The robotic worm is named Meshworm because of the flexibility which has contracting segments to crawl across surfaces.
The robotic worm Meshworm is remarkably resilient that it inches away whenever it steps upon or bludgeoned with a hammer because it is made of soft materials. Researchers created the artificial muscles of the robot from wire made of nickel and titanium. They wounded the wire around the tube to create segments along the length. To squeeze the mesh tube and propelling the robot forward, researchers applied a small current to the segments of wire.
