Firefox 3.6.4 came out yesterday with one big news : the independence of browser plugins . This means that now, Flash is “isolated “from the rest of the browser, so if you happen to Flash hang – something that is unfortunately common – and not bring down the browser too, but we will see this:
Of course, nothing new , at least for those who use multiple browsers , since Chrome and Safari both offer this feature for quite some time, but it is good to see that has been enabled for those who remain loyal to Firefox. For now, this feature has been enabled for Flash , QuickTime , Silverlight , but only works on Windows and Linux. Mac , where the Flash plugin crashes probably more often ( apart from being a platform where they consume more resources ), brings this function, but only in Firefox alphas 4 (available nightly.mozilla.com)
This is the only big news of the update , unfortunately. The rest are security and stability fixes .
