Whats new in Intel Atom N470 Processor

intel_atom_n450-400-400Intel come up with an interesting addition to its Atom family of processors. Intel Atom N470 has been officially announced by Intel, yesterday. For those of you who don’t know, Atom family from Intel is to cover the increasing demands of mobile devices. Intel Atom N470 is an upgrade of Intel N450 CPU and has 1.83Ghz of clock, 512Kb of l2 cache and DDR2 667 memory support. According to an announcement from Intel N470 CPU is designed to be more fast and energy efficient. Its about .2GHz more quick and has less battery consumption which allows long battery life of the mobile devices it sits in, including Netbooks. Besides N470 CPU has built in graphics processor which provides enhanced performance boost and GUI rich experience.

Right now no gadgets manufacturers are known to use N470 CPU but Intel is expecting ASUS, Samsung and other Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEMs) who are currently usin N450 CPU in their devices. It is expected that more and more OEMs will shift to N470 due to its enhanced specs and increasing processing demands form their customers.
