In order to bring young people, who often connect and chat with friends through chat or instant messaging, Microsoft was associated with a large network in France for release phone named Messenger Edition 251. It is integrated services of Microsoft Windows Live Messenger (like Yahoo) and some buttons have been customized to help quick access to this feature.

SFR, a provider of telecommunications services in France’s second largest Microsoft has been chosen to launch the phone exclusively for these youth. Messenger Edition is designed as 251 bar, similar to the phone model Blackberry, A QWERTY keyboard (actually AZERTY keyboard was because some rearrangement) fully and help drafting messages easier. Messenger Edition in addition to built 251 service Windows Live Messenger, it also has a special button, enabling users quick access to friends list.

Besides a full AZERTY keyboard, the Messenger Edition 251 also has QVGA touchscreen, 2.0MP camera is added, MicroSD memory card, the music player, FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Messenger Edition 251 is said to run on OS Windows Mobile 6 or older version. Microsoft Messenger Edition sold for $ 251 in France 109USD or 79USD with contracts for use.
