There are 1.5 billion people who earn less than $2 a day. Solar Lamp is an effort to ease their problems.  A solar LED lighting project has been launched named WAKAWAKA to provide this1.5 billion community an affordable lighting option. Studio Kalkwijk are the designers of WAKAWAKA (Solar Lamp).

WAKAWAKA also provides mobile charging facility. There is a battery holder for mobile charging. The project is specially for Africa as name suggests. WAKAWAKA comes from Shakira’s World Cup song ‘This Time for Africa’. People and students use kerosene lamps for their daily activities. It can injurious and provides insufficient light to read or work.Solar lamp is the first step to improve their lives.
