Burj Khalifa also named Burj Dubai is the tallest building on the surface of earth. It in Dubai and inaugurated on 4th of Jan 2010. Its construction started on 21th Sep-2004 by a leading Dubai based construction company, EMMAR. Total cost of Burj Khalifa project was about US $ 1.5 billion. It costs about US$4,000 per sq-ft for an office space at Burj Khalifa and US$3,500 per sq ft for soon-to-open Giorgio Armani hotel.

- Burj Khalifa is about half a mile high with a height of 828 meters. This tower got the title of Worlds Tallest Building during its construction in 2007 when it passed Taipei 101 located in Taiwan. Taipei is only 500 meters in its height.
- Till its official inauguration the exact height of Burj Khalifa was a close held secret. Only few people knew the exact measure of its height before its official opening. This was to secure the title of World’s Tallest Building for Burj Khalifa.
- The inauguration ceremony had another surprise for all the spectators in world, in honor of the president of the neighboring Abu Dhabi, Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the formally known Burj Dubai was renamed as Burj Khalifa. This all was a thankful act of Dubai to Abu Dhabi who helped Dubai with billions of dollars to cover its debts.
- Besides being a tallest building in the World, Burj Khalifa is also a place of highest observation deck, restaurants, hotels, swimming pools, fountains, offices, elevators etc.
- Its Elevator is probably the fastest in the world with a speed of 40 miles per hour i.e 65 kilometers per hour. You can imagine of its speed by knowing the fact that it reaches the highest observation deck of Burj Khalifa in just 2 minuts.
- There is a significant difference of temperature between different floors from base to top. Temperature at top is about 15 degree less as compared to base. So its more cool to be at top most floor.
- To withstand Dubai’s blistering summer heat (i.e around 120 degree) Burj Khalifa is covered with 24,348 cladding panels. IT covers a site area of 104,210 m2 and project area of 464,515 m2
- Burj Khalifa has an empty weight of about 500,000 tons.
- 90 percent of available 900 residences have already being sold. So if you want a place you should not late. This exclude the Giorgio Armani hotel which will open soon.
- Burj Khalifa is not only the world’s tallest building, it has also broken two other impressive records, the tallest structure, previously held by the KVLY-TV mast in Blanchard, North Dakota, and the tallest free-standing structure, previously held by Toronto’s CN Tower.
